Circular Collages: First Hybrid Explorations of Noise and Color
Technical Specifications
Technique: Collage - Digital
Location: Caracas
Year: 2000 - 2013
The "Circular Collages" series documents the artist's first foray into collage techniques, establishing a foundational stage of formal and chromatic exploration in a circular format.
The work is an early manifestation of a hybrid methodology. It begins with an Analog Construction—torn fragments from magazines, selected for their chromatic qualities and layered onto cardboard. Subsequently, a digital intervention takes place, where the pieces are digitized and manipulated using software to intensify color, contrast, and texture.
The result is the creation of an early "visual and color noise," a fusion of analog gesture with digital processing. This series marks the beginning of the artist's later research into saturation and the aesthetics of glitch, which would define his future work.
